Team India have received a major boost ahead of their upcoming assignments, with pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah cleared to play in the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan and the 2026 Asian Games. Bumrah had returned to the squad after recovering from a knee injury, with his selection initially subject to fitness clearance. His availability provides a significant boost to India’s bowling attack.
At the same time, India have suffered an injury setback involving Harshit Rana. The fast bowler has been ruled out of both the Afghanistan T20I series and the Asian Games after sustaining a fresh hamstring injury during fitness testing. Yash Thakur has been named as Rana’s replacement in both squads. Thakur, who recently made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe, had impressed with four wickets in two matches.
