

Indian athletes continued their impressive run at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026. Lovepreet Singh won a silver medal in the men’s 110+ kg weightlifting category, while Seema Kaliraman secured a bronze medal in the women’s discus throw event. Punjab’s Lovepreet delivered a career-best performance, lifting 176 kg in the snatch and 212 kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 388 kg. He missed the gold medal by just one kilogram.
In the women’s discus throw, Seema Kaliraman fought through challenges to claim the bronze medal. Despite recording three consecutive fouls, her crucial throw in the third round secured her a place on the podium. Meanwhile, Neeraj Chopra, Rohit Yadav, and Yashveer Singh qualified for the javelin throw final. With these achievements, India’s medal tally at the Commonwealth Games has reached 17.
