Indian chess players Mayank Chakraborty and Priti Bordoloi clinched the titles at the Asian Junior Chess Championship. Both players drew their final classical-round games on Wednesday. Mayank finished on 7.5 points to win the boys’ classical title, while Russia’s Artim Pinzin took silver and India’s Daksh Goel secured bronze.
India also dominated the girls’ classical section, with Priti Bordoloi winning gold after finishing with 7.5 points. Maria Kholyavko of Kazakhstan claimed silver, while India’s Nivedita won bronze. Meanwhile, Telugu players Sharanya and Advait finished sixth in their respective categories.
