288 Indians Uncontactable in Nepal.. MEA Issues Key Update

As many as 288 Indian nationals remain uncontactable in Nepal, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said. Among them are 73 people working at the Trishuli Power Project. Two separate groups of Tamil Nadu residents, comprising 37 and 49 people, had travelled for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and are also currently uncontactable. The list includes 32 residents of West Bengal, 61 people from different states and 33 residents of Kerala.

Indian authorities are coordinating with relevant agencies and local authorities to trace the missing nationals and assess their safety. Meanwhile, 21 people from Tamil Nadu were rescued safely on Thursday, according to the MEA. Efforts are continuing to establish contact with Indians in the affected areas and facilitate their safety and evacuation wherever required.
