Lingesh Creates History in TNPL

The Tamil Nadu Premier League 2026 Qualifier 2 witnessed a remarkable set of records. Chasing 184 against VIDA Kovai Kings, Trichy Grand Cholas were bowled out for just 99. Five of their batters were dismissed for golden ducks. K. Deeban Lingesh produced a sensational opening spell, dismissing K. Rajkumar, S. Shyam Sundar and Jagatheesan Kousik with the first three deliveries to complete a stunning hat-trick.

Lingesh became the first bowler in TNPL history to take a hat-trick with the opening three balls of an innings. Two more Trichy batters later fell for golden ducks, leaving the team reeling at 6/5. Lingesh finished with impressive figures of 3/14, while Manimaran Siddharth claimed four wickets. VIDA Kovai Kings eventually won by 84 runs and secured their place in the final.
