Sri Lanka Fight Back in Colombo Test

Sri Lanka have mounted a strong fightback against India on the fifth day of the second Test in Colombo. Resuming their innings at 229/6, the hosts gradually extended their lead and reached 302/6 after 92 overs. Keshara Nuvanth, unbeaten on 37, and Sonal Dinusha, unbeaten on 39, have frustrated the Indian bowling attack with a determined partnership for the seventh wicket. The duo have added 84 runs from 166 balls and taken Sri Lanka’s overall lead to 89 runs.

India’s spin trio of Ravindra Jadeja, Manav Suthar and Saransh Jain bowled tight spells but could not find the crucial breakthrough. The Indian team has also taken the new ball in an effort to break the stubborn partnership. Sri Lanka, meanwhile, are refusing to surrender and are looking to build a challenging position before the final stages of the Test.
