India Dominate Asia Cup, But Coach Muzumdar Not Satisfied Yet...

India’s women’s cricket team lifted the Asia Cup after an impressive unbeaten campaign, winning all five of their matches. However, their fielding performance remained a major concern throughout the tournament, with the team dropping as many as 13 catches. Indonesia followed with seven dropped catches. Head coach Amol Muzumdar acknowledged the lapses and admitted that the team needs to improve significantly in this area.

Muzumdar said the team will focus extensively on fielding during practice sessions and work for hours to eliminate such mistakes. He also defended the middle-order batters, stating that the conditions in Dubai made batting challenging and that the team had no concerns about its middle order. He praised Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana for their contributions and pointed out that India consistently scored around 150 runs per match. Despite the title triumph, Muzumdar stressed that the team would not become complacent and would continue preparing for upcoming tournaments.
