

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a significant increase in prize money for the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup, reflecting the growing popularity of women’s cricket worldwide. The tournament, scheduled to be held in England from June 12, will feature 12 teams for the first time, making it the biggest edition in the event’s history. A total of 33 matches will be played across seven venues.
According to the ICC, the tournament champions will receive USD 2.34 million (over ₹22 crore), while the runners-up will earn USD 1.17 million (around ₹11 crore). Teams reaching the semifinals will also receive substantial rewards, and every participating team is guaranteed prize money. Additionally, teams will receive performance bonuses for victories during the league stage. India, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, will be among the strong contenders for the title.
