Boxer Preeti Pawar Secures Another Medal for India

Indian boxer Preeti Pawar has assured India of a medal at the Commonwealth Games by reaching the final in the women’s 54kg boxing category. World No. 3 Preeti defeated Catherine Wape of Zambia by a dominant 5-0 margin in the semifinal, ensuring at least a silver medal for India. She will now face Scarlett Delgado of Canada in the gold medal bout.

After her victory, Preeti expressed happiness over reaching the final and said she would give her best performance to win gold. She added that she never underestimates her opponents and prepares a special strategy with her coach before every bout. Meanwhile, Indian judokas Rohit Basir and Shraddha Chopade also advanced to the quarterfinals with impressive victories.
