Agarkar Set to Bid Farewell.. ‘Thank You Note’ Ready!

India men’s cricket team chief selector Ajit Agarkar could be set to leave his position as uncertainty continues over his future. The selection committee met on September 16 to finalise the Indian squads for the upcoming ODI and T20I series against the West Indies. The meeting could potentially be Agarkar’s final one as chief selector, although the BCCI has not officially announced any decision regarding his continuation.

Agarkar’s current tenure is scheduled to end on October 4, following a previous one-year extension. There had been reports that he could remain in the role until the 2027 ODI World Cup, but the latest developments have raised questions over those plans. According to PTI, Agarkar may send a ‘thank you note’ to BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia after the West Indies squad selection, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve Indian cricket for three years. India are scheduled to play three ODIs and five T20Is during the West Indies tour, with the T20I series beginning on October 6.
