Former minister and Sanathnagar MLA Talsani Srinivas Yadav asserted that the formation of the Secunderabad Municipal Corporation is non-negotiable. He warned that the agitation would continue until the demand is fulfilled and added that he would even undertake an indefinite hunger strike if required. Speaking at a meeting organized by the Laskar District Sadhana Samithi in Balamrai, Yadav alleged attempts to undermine Secunderabad’s historic identity and criticized the government for taking unilateral decisions without consulting the public.
To intensify the movement, he announced a massive peace rally on the 17th of this month with 10,000 participants from Secunderabad Railway Station to the Gandhi statue at MG Road. He stated that protests, road blockades, shutdowns, and agitations would follow if the government fails to respond. Highlighting landmarks such as Osmania University, Gandhi Hospital, South Central Railway headquarters, and the iconic Clock Tower, he said these stand as living symbols of Secunderabad’s rich history. Yadav concluded that the struggle would continue beyond party lines until the government officially announces the formation of the municipal corporation.
