Vijay, chief of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has written a letter to the Election Commission of India requesting an extension of polling time by two hours in Tamil Nadu. He cited disruptions in the transport system during the elections, which have caused inconvenience to voters trying to reach polling stations.
Vijay alleged that the lack of adequate transport facilities is preventing people from casting their votes and termed it a possible conspiracy to suppress voter turnout. He urged the Election Commission to arrange additional buses to facilitate smooth voting. The polling for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections is currently scheduled to conclude at 6 PM, but his request has sparked fresh debate.
