Tummala Nageswara Rao Hits Back at KTR Over HYDRA Remarks

Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao launched a sharp attack on BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao over his remarks on HYDRA, stating that those who have already "sunk in the Bay of Bengal" have no reason to speak about throwing HYDRA into it. He said the state is currently facing a nearly 30 percent rainfall deficit despite the monsoon season and warned that the effects of the El Niño weather phenomenon are expected to continue through August, September, and October. The minister said the government has been creating awareness about the changing weather conditions while ensuring coordination among all departments to effectively handle the situation.

Tummala also said farmers are increasingly opting for upland crops and oil palm cultivation in response to changing climatic conditions. Referring to the Congress Party's public outreach initiative at Gandhi Bhavan, he said people consider the party office a place where their grievances can be heard with trust. According to the minister, complaints received from the public are being forwarded to the concerned officials, and district collectors are being engaged to ensure timely resolution. He added that the Congress Party's direct interaction programme with the public is receiving a positive response from poor and middle-class families seeking solutions to their issues.
