TPCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud Holds Off-the-Record Interaction with Media

TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, speaking during an informal interaction with media representatives in Delhi, raised questions over the land holdings and assets of former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s family and the Section 22-A prohibited-properties list. Goud said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had presented details of the KCR family’s land holdings in the Assembly. According to Goud, KCR’s 2004 and 2009 election affidavits showed no land holdings, while 35 acres were shown by 2014, with the holdings increasing further by 2018 and reaching 53 acres in 2023. He further claimed that 123 acres were held in the KTR family’s name by 2023 and that KTR purchased 67 acres in 2026. Goud alleged that these figures did not correspond with the assets declared in the affidavits and called for an inquiry.

On the 22-A issue, Goud said there could have been errors by officials in some cases and that the matter was also being investigated. He maintained that the provision was not introduced by the Chief Minister or ministers for personal benefit. Goud also criticised the language allegedly used by BRS leaders against the Speaker’s mother and their conduct towards the police. He commented on the controversy surrounding the Janwada farmhouse while stating that the government had no intention of taking over anyone’s private property. Goud also said the Telangana Congress had seen a rise in its political graph under state in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan and acknowledged the work of previous party in-charges.
