The Telangana government has decided to register its protest against the Centre’s proposed VBG Ranjhi scheme, which is set to be implemented from July 1. As part of this move, Minister Seethakka is expected to write a formal letter to the Central government expressing the state’s concerns. The Assembly has already passed a resolution opposing the scheme, indicating strong resistance from the state.
Amid increasing pressure from the Centre to roll out the new scheme, officials have suggested that at least 60 percent of funds for employment guarantee must come from the Centre, making implementation unavoidable. During a review meeting at Praja Bhavan with senior officials, including Special CS Divya Devarajan and other key officers, discussions were held on key points to be included in the letter. The minister stated that a final decision will be taken after Cabinet discussions.
