Harish Rao Condemns Alleged Attack on KTR’s PRO and PA at Police Station

BRS MLA and former minister Harish Rao has strongly condemned what he alleged was an attempt by masked police personnel to attack the PRO and PA of BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao at a police station. According to Harish Rao, the two were called to the police station for questioning on the festival day and, around 6:30 pm, a group of nearly 15 masked personnel allegedly entered the interrogation room and attempted to assault them. He said members of the BRS legal team present at the station noticed the incident, raised an alarm and prevented the alleged attack, following which the masked personnel reportedly left the room.

Harish Rao alleged that the government had sent masked task force personnel to the police station to carry out the attack and described the incident as highly objectionable. He questioned the government’s response to alleged attacks on people in police custody and asked whether those who raise questions about government actions would be targeted. He further alleged that the incident amounted to disobedience of High Court directions in the case. Harish Rao demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who also handles the Home portfolio, immediately respond to the incident, release the complete CCTV footage from the police station, identify the masked personnel and register FIRs against them. He also sought legal action against those allegedly involved and questioned the government over the state’s law-and-order situation.
