Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has expanded his cabinet in a new phase of political development by inducting two more ministers from VCK and IUML parties. Each party has been allotted one ministerial post, taking the total strength of the cabinet to 35 ministers. Earlier, 9 ministers had taken oath on the day Vijay assumed office as Chief Minister, followed by 23 ministers who were sworn in on May 21.
In the latest development, both VCK and IUML, which had initially extended outside support to the ruling alliance, have now formally joined the government. As part of this expansion, IUML MLA Shahjahan from Papanasam and VCK MLA Vanni Arasu from Thindivanam took oath as ministers on May 22, marking their official entry into Vijay’s cabinet.
