The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has unveiled its election manifesto ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly polls. Chief Minister M. K. Stalin released the document on Sunday, outlining a range of welfare schemes and economic development initiatives. Addressing party members at the headquarters, Stalin stated that the DMK government has fulfilled its previous promises and assured that existing schemes would be expanded further if re-elected. Key promises include free laptops for 3.5 million students pursuing higher education, an increase in monthly financial assistance for women from ₹1,000 to ₹2,000 benefiting over 13.7 million recipients, and raising old-age pensions to ₹2,000.
The manifesto also proposes extending the breakfast scheme up to Class 8, interest-free loans up to ₹5 lakh for women self-help groups, and enhancing benefits under the Chief Minister’s health insurance scheme up to ₹1 lakh. Free electricity for over 2 million beneficiaries will continue, along with the distribution of pump sets without meters. The government also plans to double dialysis units in public hospitals. To strengthen the state’s economy, the DMK aims to attract investments worth ₹18 lakh crore and boost employment in the technology sector through the establishment of new TIDEL parks.
