Bomb Threat on Air India Express Flight

An Air India Express flight operating from Dammam in Saudi Arabia to Delhi was diverted to Ahmedabad on August 31 after a crew member discovered a tissue paper carrying a bomb threat inside the aircraft’s lavatory. The crew immediately alerted the pilot, following which the flight was diverted as a precautionary measure under security protocols. After landing, passengers and crew were safely evacuated and the aircraft was moved to an isolated area for detailed security checks.

Security agencies, including the CISF, bomb disposal teams and a dog squad, conducted an extensive search of the aircraft, baggage and surrounding area, but no explosives or suspicious material were found. Investigators later collected handwriting samples from those onboard to identify the person who wrote the threat note. A handwriting comparison has reportedly brought a crew member under the scanner, while authorities are also examining the possible involvement of a passenger. The investigation is continuing to establish who placed the note and whether the threat was a hoax.
