Satisfied With Two-Year Tenure as PCC Chief: Mahesh Goud

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Mahesh Kumar Goud said he was satisfied with his two-year tenure as the party’s state chief. He said he had discharged his responsibilities effectively and worked to strengthen the Congress from the booth level upward. Goud credited Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, along with AICC leaders Deepa Dasmunsi and Meenakshi Natarajan, for extending full support. He highlighted initiatives such as the Gandhi Bhavan Connect Centre, minister-cadre interaction programmes, the ‘Jana Hitha’ padayatra and the appointment of district Congress presidents. He also cited the victories in the Jubilee Hills and Cantonment by-elections as significant achievements.

Goud strongly denied reports of differences between him and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, saying the chief minister was working effectively. He said the Congress’s primary goal was to make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister and expressed confidence that Telangana could contribute 14–15 Lok Sabha seats after delimitation. Goud said the inability to complete the full state executive during his tenure was disappointing, while indicating that working presidents would be appointed by the end of the month. He said DCC presidents would play a crucial role in future elections and confirmed that he would contest the next election from his home district. He also said there was currently no scope for the BC chief minister slogan.
