Former minister and Deputy Floor Leader Harish Rao strongly criticized the Revanth Reddy government while speaking to the media at Shamshabad Police Station. He alleged that democracy is being undermined in the state, with increasing restrictions on opposition parties. He said suspending leaders from the Assembly for raising public issues and preventing them from meeting farmers reflects an undemocratic approach. He further claimed that a “police rule” is prevailing, which is harmful to democratic values.
Harish Rao also opposed the government’s plan to set up industries on fertile agricultural lands that yield multiple crops. He demanded the immediate withdrawal of land acquisition notifications and termed the arrests of leaders visiting farmers as unjust. Accusing the government of failing to fulfill its election promises, he said people would give a strong response to the Congress party in the upcoming elections.
