Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has urged Congress leaders and party workers to remain vigilant regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Addressing a PCC Zoom meeting, he stated that voter list verification should be taken seriously, alleging that a significant number of votes could be removed under the category of “suspicious voters.” He emphasized that the voter list likely to be finalized by October 2026 would play a crucial role in the 2028 elections and warned that any deletion of genuine votes could have serious political consequences.
The Chief Minister directed district in-charge ministers, Parliament in-charges, Assembly in-charges, and booth-level leaders to establish a robust monitoring mechanism across all 119 Assembly constituencies. He instructed leaders to coordinate closely with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and ensure that migrant voters or those temporarily absent are not removed from the electoral rolls. AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan also stressed the need for vigilance, urging party workers to verify voter records, assist citizens in maintaining necessary documentation, and safeguard every eligible vote.
