Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has alleged irregularities in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), claiming that students are being penalized for institutional mistakes while the system profits from them. In a social media post, he criticized the cost burden on students for answer sheet revaluation and related services, stating that education is being treated as a business rather than a service. He claimed that errors in evaluation increase when profit becomes the primary motive.
Rahul Gandhi said that so-called “paper errors” lead to charges such as ₹100 per subject correction, ₹100 for re-totalling, and ₹25 per question for re-evaluation, forcing students to spend up to ₹2,000 per case. He also claimed nearly 4 lakh students have applied for re-evaluation. Meanwhile, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh raised concerns over a reported fire incident in the Education Ministry premises, though the government clarified it occurred at the School of Planning and Architecture, not the ministry office. Separately, Rahul Gandhi, addressing party training sessions in Rajasthan, urged workers to stay connected with people, work at the grassroots level, and avoid flattery-based politics.
