A fresh controversy has erupted over the proposed name of Kavitha’s new political party, Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS). Even before the official announcement, a political group from Solapur, Maharashtra, reportedly approached the Election Commission of India (ECI) seeking registration of a party with the same abbreviation, TRS. This unexpected development has intensified the battle over the party title.
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has also lodged a formal complaint with the ECI, arguing that the name TRS is closely linked to Telangana’s 14 year statehood movement and carries strong public sentiment. Reports suggest that nearly 600 to 700 objections have been submitted to the ECI regarding the use of the TRS name. With multiple claims and objections emerging, uncertainty continues over whether Kavitha’s party will secure the TRS title.
