Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy said that the people of the country had long desired a change of government in West Bengal, and that the state electorate has fulfilled that aspiration. Speaking to the media at his residence in Delhi after the results of five state Assembly elections, he said the outcome will have a positive impact on Telangana as well.
He stated that people have once again blessed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leading to a strong mandate. He claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party is set to form a government in West Bengal with a huge majority for the first time. Kishan Reddy also criticized previous and current state governments, alleging corruption and mismanagement, and said the BJP alone has the strength to bring an end to such issues. He added that West Bengal’s industrial decline under earlier regimes forced youth to migrate for jobs. He further said that BJP’s victory would bring development under a “double engine government” model and expressed confidence that the party will expand in southern India as well.
He also participated in celebrations with party leaders, distributed sweets, and took part in a victory rally up to Telangana Bhavan before paying tribute to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
