Opposition leaders staged a unique protest in the Parliament premises against the shortage and rising prices of LPG cylinders. Demonstrators set up a traditional firewood stove to symbolically highlight the difficulties faced by common people due to the lack of cooking gas. The protest echoed with slogans criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and demanding immediate action from the central government.
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi, and several MPs from the INDIA alliance participated in the protest. They demanded that the government address the LPG crisis and also hold discussions in Parliament about the ongoing war in West Asia and its impact. MPs accused the government of suppressing the voices of the opposition and urged the Prime Minister to clarify the government's position on these issues.
