Union Minister Pemmmasani Chandrasekhar assured that no injustice would be done to farmers in the Amaravati capital region. Speaking to the media after a three-member committee meeting held at the CRDA office in Rayapudi on Saturday, he said discussions were held to address the issues faced by farmers who had contributed land for the capital. The minister stated that the issue related to “Lanka lands” in the capital area has been completely resolved.
He explained that concerns were raised regarding the green buffer zone in Tulluru, which initially affected 36 flats. However, the impact has now been reduced to just three flats. He expressed his gratitude to Minister Narayana for resolving the issue.
The minister said that 2,004 farmers are yet to participate in land pooling and that discussions would be held with them again. He also revealed that around 120 farmers are willing to accept land alternatives. Issues related to walkway access for lands affected by road margins will be addressed, he said. Clarifying on Vastu concerns, he stated that Vastu considerations cannot be applied endlessly or reviewed at every stage.
Responding to farmers’ concerns about low Floor Space Index (FSI), the minister said the matter would be reconsidered wherever feasible. He added that DPRs would be prepared for 26 villages and boundary stones would be installed on both sides starting Monday. Farmers have also demanded 18 community halls under social infrastructure, and discussions on burial grounds will be held by Minister Narayana and MLA Shravan Kumar, he added.
