Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna has written a letter to Minister Sridhar Babu on Monday, requesting that no suspension action be taken against party MLAs who did not attend the INDIA bloc rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. The MP also released the letter on social media, triggering discussions in political circles. Against the backdrop of reported differences between the MP and district MLAs, some political observers believe that the letter was released sarcastically. The development has sparked debate within the party.
In his letter, Vamsi Krishna mentioned that Sridhar Babu and MLAs Vijaya Ramana Rao and Makkhan Singh had attended a programme organised by Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamiji in Manthani. He said he respected personal beliefs and religious programmes. However, he expressed concern over the announcement of suspension action against a tribal woman public representative and Congress workers for attending a Visakha Trust programme, allegedly without issuing show-cause notices. He added sarcastically that if distributing school bags to underprivileged students along with an MP from the same party was considered indiscipline, then skipping the Delhi rally would have to be viewed as a more serious violation. He urged the minister to follow the principles of natural justice and refrain from taking disciplinary action against Makkhan Singh and Vijaya Ramana Rao.
