Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed municipal officials to prepare a comprehensive action plan to transform Greater Hyderabad into a clean city with improved traffic flow. During a review meeting held at his residence in Jubilee Hills on Monday, the Chief Minister discussed urban development, sanitation, waste management, the use of treated wastewater and traffic regulation. He instructed officials to ensure that garbage is not allowed to accumulate anywhere in the city and that waste is collected from every household daily. He also called for continuous monitoring of the collection process and strict action against officials and staff who neglect their duties. Special arrangements should be made to transport construction waste to designated locations, while coordination with industrial area authorities was also advised.
The Chief Minister further stressed the need to reduce the use of drinking water for construction activities, parks, landscaping and gardening. He suggested using treated wastewater from sewage treatment plants for these purposes and creating greater awareness about the availability of green water tankers. He recalled that the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board had introduced 28 green water tankers through 19 sewage treatment plants in the first phase. He asked officials to expand the supply of treated water across GHMC, CMC and MMC limits. On traffic management, Revanth Reddy directed officials to identify major congestion points and prepare plans for smoother, signal-free movement. He called for identifying locations where underpasses and elevated corridors could be constructed to reduce traffic congestion at major roads and junctions. MP Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Minister's Secretary Manik Raj, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed and Cyberabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Srujana, among others, attended the meeting.
