YSR Congress Party president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy visited the Rapthadu incident survivor, who is undergoing treatment at Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru. He enquired about the girl's health condition and spoke to her parents, offering them support and encouragement. Jagan expressed happiness over reports that her health was improving and wished her a speedy recovery. Reacting to the incident, he criticised the state government, saying it should hang its head in shame over the developments.
Jagan alleged that the widespread availability of alcohol and ganja, along with the proliferation of belt shops, was a major reason behind such incidents. He also blamed what he described as the Red Book Constitution for the prevailing situation in the state. Demanding accountability from the government, he sought compensation of Rs 50 lakh for the survivor's family. He assured the family that the YSR Congress Party would stand by them and extend its support.
