Election activity is heating up in West Bengal, with strong exchanges between ruling and opposition parties. In this context, Mamata Banerjee, leader of the All India Trinamool Congress, released the party’s election manifesto. To win the trust of voters and return to power, she announced 10 key promises aimed at improving people’s lives over the next five years.
The promises include increased financial support for women, with ₹1500 per month for general category women and ₹1700 for SC/ST women. Unemployed youth will receive ₹1500 per month. The party also plans to improve healthcare services through camps, modernize schools with e-learning, and create seven new districts and municipalities. A special agriculture budget of ₹30,000 crore has been proposed to support farmers. The manifesto also promises housing for all, clean drinking water for every home, and better infrastructure to attract investments and business.
Mamata Banerjee also spoke about national issues, alleging that the central government is planning actions related to NRC and census that could affect citizens. She accused the opposition of trying to influence elections and called on people to stay united against such efforts. She stated that she believes in equality among all religions and urged voters to remain alert. Voting in West Bengal will be held in two phases on April 23 and 29, with results to be announced on May 4.
