BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao expressed concern over the shortage of LPG cylinders caused by the ongoing Gulf war situation. He urged the central government to intervene immediately and restore the supply of LPG cylinders used for both commercial and domestic purposes. In this regard, KTR wrote a letter to Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri on Thursday, requesting urgent action to address the issue.
KTR said the shortage of gas is creating serious problems for hotels, hostels and small food businesses. He recalled the warning issued by the Telangana Hotel Association that nearly 90 percent of hotels and restaurants across Telangana, including Hyderabad, may be forced to shut down within 48 hours if the gas supply is not restored soon.
He also expressed concern about the situation in the IT corridor areas, where many students and working professionals living in PG hostels are struggling to get food. KTR suggested that PG hostels should be given gas supply under a special protection category to ensure uninterrupted services.
