BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) strongly condemned the issuance of SIT notices to former MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar in the name of the phone tapping case. He alleged that the entire investigation resembled an “utter flop TV serial,” accusing the government of summoning opposition leaders who have no connection with the case while sparing the real officials responsible. KTR said the repeated questioning of opposition leaders was nothing but political vendetta and a deliberate attempt at attention diversion, especially ahead of the municipal elections.
KTR further alleged that the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government was using the SIT probe as a weapon to divert public attention from large-scale corruption and scams in the state. He claimed that the exposure of the Naini Coal Block Scam had pushed the government into deep trouble, and the sudden issuance of notices was aimed at deflecting focus from the issue. He stated that similar inquiries against Harish Rao and himself earlier had yielded nothing, and now Santosh Kumar was being targeted. KTR added that the timing of the notices—coming soon after BRS announced plans to submit a representation to the Governor regarding the coal scam—was not coincidental. He assured that the party would stand firmly with Santosh Kumar and fight what he termed as false and politically motivated cases in court.
