Former Chief Minister and BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao held a crucial meeting with senior party leaders on Tuesday to discuss strategy for the upcoming Assembly sessions. The meeting took place at his Nandinagar residence and was attended by former ministers K.T. Rama Rao, T. Harish Rao, and other key BRS leaders. During the discussions, KCR outlined the party’s approach to counter the state government on recent political developments in Telangana. A major focus of the meeting was the Palamuru–Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project, which the BRS plans to raise strongly on the Assembly floor, targeting both the state and central governments over alleged delays and shortcomings. The ruling Congress has accused the previous BRS government of neglecting the Palamuru–Rangareddy project while prioritizing the Kaleshwaram project. In response, BRS leaders maintain that the party addressed irrigation needs by undertaking multiple projects on the Krishna and Godavari rivers and by resolving key water-sharing issues during its decade-long rule. The political atmosphere has intensified in recent days, with sharp exchanges between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and former CM KCR escalating into personal remarks. Against this backdrop, the BRS leadership has resolved to use the Assembly sessions effectively to respond to every allegation raised by the government. Sources indicate that KCR has asked party leaders to remain fully prepared with facts and counter-arguments during the proceedings.
