The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has completed the questioning of Gajwel MLA and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao in connection with the illegal phone-tapping case. Following this, Hyderabad Police Commissioner Sajjanar’s tweet on the matter was countered by Harish Rao, drawing widespread attention.
Harish Rao stated, “It is not permissible to declare phone-tapping illegal without a court verdict. The SIT Chief does not have the authority to pass judgment during the investigation stage. The police must conduct the investigation, and only the court has the power to decide. Whether phone-tapping is legal or illegal can be determined solely by the judiciary. In this case, it appears that the SIT Chief formed an opinion prematurely.”
