Industry and IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu strongly rejected BRS leader KTR’s allegations about the state government’s industrial policy. He accused KTR of spreading misleading claims calling the suggestion that the government pocketed ₹5 lakh crore through an impact fee a political smear.
Sridhar Babu clarified that out of the 9,292 acres mentioned by KTR, only 4,740 acres were platted and allocated to industries; the rest were used for infrastructure such as roads and drainage. He noted that the BRS government itself granted proprietary (freehold) rights to industrial lands in places like Ajamabad, Kukatpalli and Hafeezpet through three GO numbers issued in August 2023, ahead of the elections, and asked KTR to disclose what revenue was actually collected then.
He emphasised these allocations were carried out over years as part of industrial development plans, not in a single day. Speaking at a Secretariat press briefing on Friday, the minister said hiding those facts while levelling unfounded accusations against the government was unacceptable.
