BJP MP Etela Rajender launched a sharp attack on the Telangana government over the functioning of HYDRA, alleging that the agency has become a tool to harass the public rather than protect their interests. He said while the government has the authority to appoint officials, it does not have the right to demolish people's homes arbitrarily.
Rajender further alleged that the government is using HYDRA to target political opponents and benefit individuals close to the ruling establishment. He claimed the agency has created fear among residents, with many people now hesitant to purchase homes in Hyderabad due to concerns over demolition drives. These remarks reflect the BJP leader's allegations and criticism of the government's handling of HYDRA.
