Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called for comprehensive reforms to India's national examination system, ensuring equal opportunities for students from all states and linguistic backgrounds. He made these suggestions during a meeting with Nandan Nilekani, chairman of the High-Powered Task Force on Examination Reforms, at the state secretariat in Amaravati on November 4. Minister Nara Lokesh welcomed Nilekani and other task force members to the meeting.
Chandrababu stressed that the new examination framework should be developed through consensus among all states and should be transparent, reliable and fair. He also emphasised the need to move beyond marks and examinations by focusing on students' skills, creativity and critical thinking. Minister Nara Lokesh highlighted the need to reduce academic pressure and improve coordination in education, language and certification systems across states. Nilekani explained that the task force was examining measures to prevent paper leaks, strengthen cybersecurity, improve the use of technology and enhance digital forensics in examination management. He also said the team was visiting different states to understand their practices and challenges.
