Amaravati, February 12: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the allocations made to Andhra Pradesh in the 2026–27 Union Budget during a meeting with senior officials at the camp office. The review focused on the implementation of key projects approved by the Centre, including the Rare Earth Corridor. The Chief Minister directed officials to prepare proposals to leverage centrally sponsored schemes and secure additional funds. He pointed out that inadequate utilization of central funds in the past led to issues related to utilization certificates. He emphasized that effective spending by departments would help the state draw more funds in future budgets.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to establish the Rare Earth Corridor across Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and Visakhapatnam districts. He also called for proposals to extend the East Coast Industrial Corridor from Mulapeta to Krishnapatnam. Plans were discussed to set up container and equipment manufacturing units, a mega textile park in Palnadu, a sports manufacturing hub in Tirupati, and semiconductor design projects in Amaravati. He further highlighted the development of a Health City, bio-design, med-tech parks, and medical tourism under the ‘Heal in AP’ initiative. CM Chandrababu also stressed maximizing the use of electric buses, promoting food processing industries, and securing higher allocations for crops like coconut, coffee, cashew, and cocoa.
