

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced 11 candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, including its nominee for the Odisha by-election. Rajya Sabha elections are held every two years to fill vacant seats, and the polling for this year's vacancies is scheduled for June 18. The BJP Central Election Committee convened a high-level meeting in New Delhi under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to finalize the candidates.

The list was released by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh. The candidates include Satish Poonia and Alka Gurjar from Rajasthan, Tarun Chugh and Rajneesh Agrawal from Madhya Pradesh, Tai Tagak from Arunachal Pradesh, Rajubhai Shukla, Mukeshbhai Ratva, Mansing Parmar and Jitendra Meghjibhai Kanjaria from Gujarat, Sharda Devi from Manipur, and Debasish Samantaray from Odisha. Elections will be held for 24 Rajya Sabha seats across 10 states. In Andhra Pradesh, elections will be held for four seats, with three allocated to TDP and one to Jana Sena. In Tamil Nadu, the TVK alliance has allotted one Rajya Sabha seat to Congress.
