Telangana Rakshana Sena chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha has announced Dr. Nalamasa Srikanth Goud as the party’s candidate for the Warangal–Khammam–Nalgonda Graduate MLC constituency. The announcement was made on the occasion of the Dasara festival. Srikanth Goud is the first candidate officially named by the party to contest a Legislative Council election since the formation of Telangana Rakshana Sena. The party has also appointed senior leader Syed Ismail as the state observer and election coordinator to oversee coordination for the constituency.
Srikanth Goud hails from Kausalyadevipalli village in Narsimhulapet mandal, in present-day Mahabubabad district, which was part of the erstwhile Warangal district. He completed his PhD at Kakatiya University and actively participated in the Telangana statehood movement. He has worked alongside Kavitha since the early days of Telangana Jagruthi and represented the organisation as its spokesperson in television debates and meetings organised by public associations. His selection marks the party’s first announced candidature for a direct election since its establishment.
