Suvendu Adhikari, Leader of Opposition in West Bengal, has alleged that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) procured over 750 “artificial fingers” (silicone finger gloves) to facilitate bogus voting in the Bhabanipur constituency. The allegations surfaced on April 28, 2026, just a day before the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections. He claimed that a TMC councillor, Debolina Biswas, was involved in arranging these items to enable multiple voting.
Adhikari further alleged that 3,810 booth slips meant for voters in Bhabanipur were returned undelivered, raising concerns of potential misuse. He stated that he has submitted a sample of the artificial fingers to the Election Commission of India as evidence. The allegations have sparked political controversy ahead of polling.
