Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu conducted an extensive review on Wednesday at the Secretariat, focusing on departmental performance, public satisfaction levels, delivery of online services, pending files, and utilization of funds under centrally sponsored schemes. Ministers, secretaries, and department heads attended the meeting, which lasted over three hours, reflecting the format of a ‘mini collectors’ conference.’
The Chief Minister presented progress cards for each department, highlighting achievements and gaps over the last 18 months. He noted that the current public satisfaction level stands at 69.98 percent and set a target to increase it to 80 percent within the next three months.
Making a significant push toward full digital governance, he announced that from January 15 onward, the entire administrative process must function online, without manual files. On the same date, the government will roll out 1,200 services under the ‘WhatsApp Governance’ initiative, urging departments to encourage citizens to make use of these digital options.
He directed all ministers and secretaries to ensure that no file remains pending beyond 15 days. Regarding centrally sponsored schemes, the Chief Minister instructed officials to release the state’s matching funds promptly and avoid lapsing of central funds. He warned that departments failing to utilize allocated funds would be required to provide explanations.
Emphasizing the government’s promise of simultaneous development and welfare, he advised the Finance Department to strengthen revenue mobilization. He also mentioned that restructuring certain high-interest loans taken by the previous administration could potentially save the state nearly ₹1,000 crore by March.
More detailed guidelines will be issued during the Collectors’ Conference scheduled for January 17 and 18.
