The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) secured three key posts in the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections. ABVP’s Yash Dabas was elected President with 24,576 votes, while Riya Chhawdi won the Secretary post and Lakshya Raj Singh was elected Joint Secretary. Independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen won the Vice-President post with 30,615 votes.
Vote counting began at 8 am on Saturday at the Multipurpose Hall of the University Sports Stadium in North Campus and concluded after 20 rounds. Dabas defeated NSUI candidate Vijay Shankar Meena by 2,053 votes in the presidential contest. Candidates backed by ABVP, NSUI and the AISA-SFI alliance, among others, contested the DUSU elections.
