Cocktail 2 Is Finally Coming Home… But There’s a Twist

Cocktail 2, featuring Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon, is all set for its OTT release on Netflix from August 14. Directed by Homi Adajania, the romantic comedy-drama was released in theatres on June 19 and opened to strong collections. Despite sharing its title with the 2012 hit Cocktail, the new film tells a completely fresh story with different characters and explores love, trust and emotional relationships.

The story follows Kunal and Dia, a couple who travel to Sicily before marriage, where Dia's friend Alli enters their lives. What begins as a harmless plan to test Kunal's loyalty gradually turns into a complicated love triangle, changing all three lives. The film collected Rs.95.32 crore net in India and Rs.147.56 crore worldwide. While it narrowly missed theatrical break-even on its reported Rs.150 crore budget, revenue from satellite, digital and music rights helped reduce losses, making its Netflix release one of the most anticipated OTT premieres this month.
