Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal were all set to get married on Sunday evening at the Mandhana family farmhouse in Samdol, Maharashtra. However, the ceremony was abruptly postponed after Smriti’s father Srinivas Mandhana suffered a heart attack earlier in the afternoon while wedding arrangements were in progress. At around 1:30 PM, he experienced chest pain, and an ambulance rushed him to a nearby hospital. Doctors performed an angioplasty as his condition was critical, and he is now stable and under medical observation.
Due to this sudden health emergency, the Mandhana family decided to postpone the wedding indefinitely. All decorations and arrangements at the venue were instructed to be removed. Both families have requested privacy and stated that a new wedding date will be announced only after Srinivas Mandhana fully recovers. The unexpected turn of events has left fans and well-wishers deeply concerned for the family’s well-being.
Smriti and Palash have been in a relationship since 2024 and publicly announced their engagement shortly after India’s Women’s World Cup triumph in 2025. Ahead of their planned wedding, the couple shared a touching moment at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai - a video that quickly went viral on social media. Their supporters are now hoping for Srinivas Mandhana’s speedy recovery so celebrations can resume soon.
