Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, responding to the Union Budget in Kuppam, welcomed the forward-looking budget presented by the central government. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, stating that the budget supports further progress in areas prioritized by the state government. The budget focuses on MSMEs, women, farmers, and youth empowerment and aims to contribute to India’s development as a fully developed economy by 2047.
The Union Budget emphasizes AI, technology, renewable energy, and high-speed rail corridors. The Hyderabad-Bengaluru, Hyderabad-Chennai, and Bengaluru-Chennai high-speed rail projects will connect various regions of Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, through the Dedicated Rare Earth Corridor, the state will be able to extract valuable minerals and support critical electronics manufacturing.
The budget also provides incentives for data centers, semiconductors, textiles, tourism, hospitality, and crops like coconut, sandalwood, and GDD. With tax exemptions for data centers up to 2047, the AI and digital sectors are expected to generate massive employment opportunities. CM Chandrababu Naidu highlighted that this is the first budget to give special focus to the logistics sector as well.
