

Several key decisions were taken during the Union Cabinet meeting. Approval was granted for the construction of the third and fourth railway lines between Rajahmundry and Visakhapatnam. The Cabinet also gave the green signal for a 2 percent Dearness Allowance hike for central government employees. In addition, the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana has been extended for another three years.
The Union Cabinet also approved the establishment of the Bharat Maritime Insurance Pool. Funds worth ₹12,980 crore have been allocated for this initiative. To improve connectivity to the ports of Kakinada, Machilipatnam, and Gangavaram, ₹9,889 crore has been sanctioned for the development of a 198-kilometre corridor. Additionally, approval has been given for the construction of a 4.3-kilometre-long bridge over the Godavari River.
