Tensions are escalating across West Asia with the deployment of major US naval assets near Iran. The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, along with USS Frank E. Petersen Jr., USS Spruance destroyers, and USS Michelle Murphy, has reached the region. The US Central Command confirmed the deployment, stating that it is aimed at ensuring regional security and stability. The naval task force is operating in the Indian Ocean rather than the Arabian Sea, significantly increasing the American military presence in the area.
Meanwhile, unrest continues in Iran with widespread anti-government protests reportedly resulting in thousands of casualties. US President Donald Trump has openly expressed support for the protesters and warned Tehran against taking harsh action, stating that the US would intervene if necessary. Reports also suggest that the Pentagon is preparing to deploy additional fighter jets and military cargo aircraft to the region. Despite rising tensions, a senior US official indicated that Washington remains open to dialogue if Iran is willing to engage in talks.
