Ashok Reddy urged citizens to use water responsibly amid rising summer temperatures and declining groundwater levels in Hyderabad. Reviewing tanker bookings and supply management along with officials, he emphasized that although overall tanker demand has not significantly increased compared to last year, certain areas such as Manikonda, Banjara Hills, Hafeezpet, and Netaji Park have seen a rise in bookings. He directed officials to reduce pending deliveries to zero within two days by increasing supply capacity, optimizing filling stations, and ensuring timely tanker deliveries. He also suggested expanding night-time supply operations and providing incentives for staff working night shifts to improve efficiency.
Highlighting the importance of water conservation, Ashok Reddy called on every household to save at least 20 percent of water. He advised citizens to avoid using drinking water for washing vehicles or surroundings, reduce shower usage, fix leakages immediately, and prevent unnecessary storage or wastage. He stated that with growing demand in the coming days, public cooperation is crucial to managing water supply effectively. Stressing that “water is a precious resource,” he urged people to value every drop to ensure water security for future generations.
